Jen O’Connell

Jen joined Taylor Porter in 2023 as a Partner.  Since her admission to the Louisiana Bar in 2012, Jen exceeded her client’s expectations with a confident and aggressive litigation approach. Jen prides herself on securing efficient resolutions for legal disputes or favorable defense verdicts when necessary. 

Jen has successfully litigated matters in Louisiana’s state and federal courts and enjoyed numerous successes before a jury, bench trials and up to the Louisiana Supreme Court. At the request of her clients, Jen secured admission to the Texas Bar in 2019 and also litigated matters before Texas state and federal courts and up to the Texas Supreme Court. 

Jen’s practice includes trucking and transportation law, workers’ compensation defense, general liability, industrial accidents and OSHA investigations. Jen is TWIC certified and has in depth experience with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act. 

When Jen is not in the courtroom, she is in the boardrooms of various local charitable organizations. Jen is a past board member of the Baton Rouge Mental Health Association and former chair of the Boys & Girls Club Gala. Jen has also been a fitness instructor since she was 18 years old and enjoys leading group fitness classes in the local community. She is an avid rock climber, hiker and enjoys traveling with her husband. 

Whether Jen is aggressively protecting her client’s interests or raising money for a good cause, she brings unmatched passion and work ethic to the table every single time.
